My professor Youngmi Cho took this photo and labeled all of us. She doesn’t speak much English but even with the language barrier, she was the sweetest, most understanding teacher I have had at college thus far. Also, she had amazing fashion, never repeated an outfit and always wore heels. She cried after our exam—that’s how much she loved teaching us lazy, underachieving non-math majors how to do easy statistics. I will miss her a lot. I will not miss hypothesis testing even a little bit.

She’s the kind of girl who you become friends with in college because she’s interesting but then you slowly realize that she’s cruel and spoiled and woefully unhappy and you quickly try to unknot yourself from the friendship. And years later, around the time that you’re lazy and drunk and nostalgic and about to graduate, you sit with friends somewhere sharing old stories and someone says “Remember Zoe?” and everyone laughs and said “Oh God, Zoe! Whatever happened to her?” And of course she went abroad and never came back and someone saw her at a New Year’s Eve party in the city last year and she was just doing coke all night.

Today Al, Michelle, Mike and I went hiking at Great Falls on the Billy Goat Trail. It was the perfect weather for a hike, sunny and 70 with a breeze and we had a great time scaling rocks, laughing at intense power-hikers and getting our feet stuck in mud. We ended the day drinking massive amounts of Gatorade, eating Mexican food and watching the new LOST. Probably the best day of break yet!
